We should learn to identify the Rusty Crayfish. We should not in any areas besides the Ohio River Drainage. Unused crayfish bait should be thrown away and never released into the water. Don't use crayfish as bait in general. Do not sell rusty crayfish.

The Eurasian ruffe was first collected from the St. Louis River, a tributary to Lake Superior. The ruffe is now in Lake Superior, Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, and many of their tributaries. It is unclear how the ruffe first got into North American waters but the prevailing thought is that it was introduced through the ballast water of transoceanic ships originating from European ports.

we cant really do anything but hope it stops its invasion somehow because it is thriving in this environment we cant really stop it, it has become a part of this ecosystem so i cant do anything about it.
